New Yeah Yeah Yeahs album streaming on MySpace

Karen O and her triple Yeahs have a dancy new album, It’s Blitz, coming out that can be streamed now on their MySpace page — www.myspace.com/yeahyeahyeahs. When I checked, the usual music player was only showing five songs, but click on the image of the album cover and you’ll be able to play the whole album. (Just figured it out, it’s an exploding raw egg.)
The new effort displays the compelling, fuzzed-out sound fans are used to. Giving it a listen triggered the thought, ‘Must. Buy. Record.’ The Siouxsie-esque O again manages to channel several top female rock singers of decades past while sounding entirely fresh and original.
It’s Blitz, the band’s third studio album, will be released digitally Tuesday and in stores on March 31.
Matt has been a writer and researcher in the P-D newsroom since 1996. 
This may easily be my most anticipated release of the year. Well, maybe second most anticipated after the new Beastie Boys album.
