Local rollerskating documentary debuts at Tivoli July 23
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
A new local documentary, “The Rink,” will make it’s St. Louis premiere at 7 pm July 23 at the Tivoli Theatre. The film’s world premiere was at a film festival in NYC a few months ago.
“The Rink” profiles the history & culture of rollerskating in St. Louis with an emphasis on North and East side rink and skate culture.
Ron “G. Wiz” Butts, long active in local hip hop, directed the film and Brian “B Money” Hughes (Jay-Z and Fifty Cent) helped score it.
Immediately following the film, roll over to the slammin’ after party at the Skate King (6025 Natural Bridge Ave.) where many of the skaters from the film will show off their moves. Your movie ticket stub will get you in free.
