Coachella fest announces lineup: McCartney, Killers, Cure headline

Palm Springs, Calif.-area rock festival Coachella has announced the lineup for this year’s fest, held April 17-19.
Among the more interesting choices are Paul McCartney, Public Enemy, Mexican Institute of Sound, My Bloody Valentine, Mali’s Tinariwen and 1990s faves Superchunk.
This time of year, the St. Louis air is thick with anticipation of the ballplayers returning. For those who are understandably pessimistic about the local nine this year can turn their attention to another rite of spring: Lineup announcement season.
