Man shot to death on Emma Avenue

ST. LOUIS — Police are investigating the murder of a man who was found shot to death in the 5900 block of Emma Avenue on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Patrick Hines, 27, of the 8900 block of Newby Street.
Hines was found shot in the chest at 5:07 p.m. Wednesday. He was dead at the scene, in the 5900 block of Emma Avenue, police say.
Witnesses told police they heard a gunshot and saw two men running from the scene.

When did Baden become West County? Buy a map. Halls Ferry between Riverview and North Broadway is hardly Ladue, brother. Unless your “West County” is anything west of East St. Louis, this doesn’t qualify.
And I missed where it said he was white.
I think we are below last years numbers but I’m beginning to care less about how many gang bangers kill each other. Saves the taxpayers money over housing them in prison for decades. Sad when you become numb to these horrible stories. And I agree, Baden isn’t definetely not west county. North county and north city border area.
Emma is in Jennings and Walnut Park not Baden. This happened in Walnut Park best I can tell.

stlguy38, last year’s murder rate was nowhere near a record. This year’s will not be close either.
Patrick Hines, according to case net, lived in the 5900 block of Emma through 2008. Three marijuana possession charges over the last 5 years, that’s it. Probably street dealing pot and it got him killed. Maybe he came back to the “hood” after moving to Hines St.
Can we please legalize pot for pete’s sake. This guy was clearly low level, probably just liked to get high and not smart enough to actually have a real job.
