A candlelight vigil will be held this evening in honor of St. Louis city firefighter Leonard Riggins Sr., who was killed one year ago.

The ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. at Riggins’ grave at St. Peters Cemetery, 2101 Lucas and Hunt Road.

Firefighters and friends of Riggins are invited to join his family at the vigil.

Riggins, 52, was fatally wounded Nov. 5, 2008 when he stopped at the scene of a car crash and was shot by a carjacker who had just stolen and crashed the vehicle. He was in his department vehicle on his way home when he stopped to help.

The police resolved that problem for us quickly. No need for taxpayers to provide 3 hots and a cot for this piece of filth.

I have a solution…how about we round up all of the homeless and move them accross the river to St. Chuck?
