3 shot in St. Louis this afternoon

ST. LOUIS — Three people were shot this afternoon near Penrose Park, police said.
About 1 p.m., police responded to shots fired in the 3900 block of Union Boulevard, near the intersection of North Kingshighway and Natural Bridge Avenue. It was just outside a treatment center for drug addicts called New Beginnings C-Star.
Police said they found a man shot in the arm, another man shot in the chest and a woman shot in the back.
The suspects fled in a red car, possibly a Monte Carlo.
No word on the victims’ conditions. Police were not releasing any other details about the shootings.

We are back. So much for the St. Charles car thieves and STD’s stealing all the headlines. Way to go, I knew someone would step up and take it for the team. Well done by all those who contributed to the lunacy of attempted murder on this rainy afternoon.
Rant on……Hmmmm This headline is sounding like a broken record. The words “Shooting” and “City” seem to go hand in hand. My wife and I spent 5 years in the Soulard neighborhood which previously had been a safe “island” from violent crime, but lately the island is getting smaller and smaller.
Cars broken into every other week on our street, armed robberies, burglaries all within a few blocks of our residence. Lets not forget the wonderful sound of the bums dropping the aluminum cans out of the dumpster at 3:00 am while you have to get up at 5:30 to go to WORK….then when you get back to sleep you get to listen to them crushing the cans with their feet so they all fit in their bags……lol…We liked the city and just could not stand these issues so when we decided to buy a house , we decided to move to the county……4 years of St Louis city was enough…Rant Off
These kids need to quit studying in the park when it’s raining outside. Did their parents teach them anything? I hope they don’t catch a cold during recovery.
My wife and I lived in Soulard for four years with no crime problem whatsoever. No car breakins, no home breakins, no robberies, nothing…. I have lived in the city for almost 20 years and again, no crime problems whatsoever.
This is madness. Legalize Drugs. Create Jobs. Secure the Border so AMericans must hire AMericans! Free the Cities from Democratic Monarchy!
Stop the Thuggery. Is this the CHANGE everyone believes in?

20 years in the city and no crime problems whatsoever?? Do you ever venture outside of your concrete house with no windows?? I don’t live in the city, but I work here and often “play” here and have witnessed crime and been the victim of it and known plenty of others who have as well. It doesn’t stop me from spending my $$ downtown but you’re kidding yourself if you don’t think it exists.
Again a bunch of foolishness! I don’t think we can ever stop violence, as long as there is evil in the heart of man it’s impossible! Cut the number of police officers patrolling on the street and replace them with camera’s! geesh….terrible! terrible….my African American brothers and sisters need to stop the violence!!! You are right this doesn’t happen anywhere else but in the city my God! It’s getting out of control! I know that random things happen everywhere but everyday it’s something different ….All I can do is pray for peace!
I can’t say that the entire St. Louis City is like this but in gang territory it’s horrible, call in the national guards! or something! that’s what they did in Mexico…there were 379 murders in the month of August…dead bodies were just piling up in the streets people…people couldn’t even shop at the local stores because there was so much voilence….drugs have infected our neighborhoods so bad that they have fight over territory just to make a name for themselves as the top dope dealer, the best..the man….all just a bunch of bull!
@Prngr44, I agree I don’t live in the city either, but my parents vehicle has been stolen three times! and once it was used in a high speed chase….how tough can you be running from the police in a plymouth voyager! lolol…..and then the police impounded it before they called my dad to pick it up and had to pay $135 to get it out! No Justice No Peace!
Seriously I think we need to declare like marshall law. This is rediculous. Its sad that STL is being an unsafe place to live!
They can create more jobs but how many thugs will show up for an interview? Let alone know how to dress or talk to get a job! The parents have to be responsible at some point as well…but I must say there are alot more educated citizens, with good paying jobs and degrees living in the city…there’s a small percentage of bad seeds running around making the city look bad! Some of the people with this street mentality don’t want to dream big or don’t know how to dream big, but there’s no excuse for ignorance. There are so many programs within the city limits that offer Ged classes, job training, childcare assistance so you can work or go to school and so much more, but they have to want it…some of them want to live a thug life because that’s all they know or want to know…
