Good Things Come in Pairs
Daniel, 23, professional musician & Jamie, 25, roadie
When I finally caught up with this couple from Indianapolis, they were every bit the street style royalty I had hoped for. He plays in a band, “Everthus the Deadbeats”, and has been on tour for three weeks and she is his dedicated roadie. As they described their previous night in “the dirtiest house [they] had ever slept in”, the creepy guy who owned the house and their lack of showering, I realized that they were living and breathing the street style life.
What are you guys wearing today? (Him) I’m wearing a thrift store button-down that I got for 75 cents, shorts from Target and some Vans shoes. I actually got these sunglasses a couple weeks ago from thrift shop in Greenville, NC. (Her) This dress is from a Rag-O-Rama in Indianapolis, where we are from, and I have on some sweet Reef sandals. The necklace is from an African store in Richmond, VA and I’m pretty sure it was made by people in Africa.
What’s on your iPod? (Him) Electric Light Orchestra, Man Man, and what were we listening to last night… Oh yeah, Iggy Pop (Her) My iPod is broken right now, so I don’t have anything on it.
Who is your favorite celebrity? (Him) Paris Hilton. She’s just gorgeous, she has her own style and she is filthy rich. That’s what I look for in a woman. (Her) I really like Angelina Jolie. She has babies from all over the world and I want to have babies from all over the world someday.
How long have you been dating? (Him) We’ve been together a year and a half. (Her) A blissful year and a half.

I am entering my senior year at Webster University where I have created a self-designed interdisciplinary major in fashion journalism. This summer I am interning for the features section of the Post-Dispatch and a majority of my work can be found in the Saturday Lifestyle section of the paper. You can also see some of my styling in the quarterly LUXE publication.
