What are your plans for New Year’s Day?

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

It’s New Year’s day, so we’ll take a break from the news to turn yet another year off the calendar and recover from what many across the region celebrated Monday night at First Night activities in the Grand Center neighborhood.

Other than maybe sleeping in a little later on the holiday (at least for most of us), what are your plans for this weekday day-off? Most shopping malls are open, the Zoo and Missouri Botanical Garden (Shaw’s Park) and the Art Museum are open.

Or maybe you’ll join the the group of hardy swimmers who take a dip in the icy cold Mississippi River at the foot of the Gateway Arch every January 1.

Lacking anything else to do, there is always the task of mapping out your commute come a shut down Highway 40. For that, get help online at our Highway 40 Special Report or at the Post-Dispatch and KMOV’s (Channel 4) complete traffic site, POST4TrafficOnline.com.

I made two New Years Resolutions:

1. Stop socializing (and drinking and spending) so much.
2. Concentrate on work - before the Republicans offshore my job AGAIN.

So, I didn’t do anything last night except get some sleep and I am going in to the office for about 6 hours today. Then, I’m gonna watch the Mizzou/Arkansas game!

I am working today as the person who was supposed to work called in sick. Oh well, I can watch football here as well as my couch.
It just means making my black eyed peas here at work. Unfortunately, no way to make the accompanying corn bread.

re suzy/maryann It is called the Paul/Huckabee Classic - they face off in a debate and the winner takes on the Gravel/Kucinich champion.

I hate this day. All my favorite talk radio programs are on repeat. I guess I’ll end up cleaning my office.

*BIGAMY is nice way to start a new year now isnt it?*
Yes Cathy, I suppose it is. Ah bigamy…like when a conservative ‘crit fundie just decides they have to spout off, I let them think they are the smartest thing in the world, then I walk off saying…well, that was BIGAMY! LMAOROTF
Still celebrating and have 2008 all planned out, but wondering if slamfist is using u-femi-isms again???
