Blunt opts against re-election: Good riddance, or bad move?
Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt says he will not seek re-election for a second term. According to the story we’ve prepared for STLtoday:
Blunt released a TV address “announcing that having achieved virtually everything he set out to ahe set out to accomplish when he ran for governor he will not seek a second term.”
Will you be sorry to see Blunt go when his term expires? Or are you pleased to know he won’t be back? Is this the end for Blunt’s political career or is he destined for bigger things? And if that’s what you think, where do you think he’s headed?
NOTE: Should have updated this earlier. Here’s a link to Wednesday’s story after Blunt’s news conference.
Also, here’s Blunt’s announcement as seen on YouTube.

Good riddance!
something smells very fishy–could it be all those missing E-mails smelling
I for one am glad he’s not running again and it probably is because of his lack of leadership and the missing emails.
What a great choice for a Vice President..!
If the soon-to-be Governor achieved all that he set out to do, then he has very low standards. He came, he saw, he failed miserably.
JAY NIXON IN 2008! I’m not going to miss Blunt and his cronies. Nixon is a fabulous leader who will lead Missouri to greatness.
I think its odd he is not running for 2nd term. Could it be missing emails, inability to lead, or the state of health care in Missouri. Good riddance for the state of Missouri.
Vice President? HAHAHA!!!
I couldn’t believe the news. He’s been running up to this point (in order to keep an eye on the competition, I subscribed to his campaign, so I’ve seen the e-mails out of his camp).
Could it be that he KNOWS Nixon is going to hand him his head and he’s not man enough to face the shame?
Nah…he’s done plenty to be ashamed of in the last 3 years!
Good riddance. If ever there was an example of bad leadership his name is Matt Blunt.
I wonder what sneaky and underhanded plans the Republicans have up their sleeves.
