Blunt opts against re-election: Good riddance, or bad move?

Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt says he will not seek re-election for a second term. According to the story we’ve prepared for STLtoday:

Blunt released a TV address “announcing that having achieved virtually everything he set out to ahe set out to accomplish when he ran for governor he will not seek a second term.”

Will you be sorry to see Blunt go when his term expires? Or are you pleased to know he won’t be back? Is this the end for Blunt’s political career or is he destined for bigger things? And if that’s what you think, where do you think he’s headed?

NOTE: Should have updated this earlier. Here’s a link to Wednesday’s story after Blunt’s news conference.

Also, here’s Blunt’s announcement as seen on YouTube.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Maybe Missouri will wake up and smell the coffee and elect a governor that will not screw them over like Blunt has for soon to be four years when his term expires. Who knows, maybe he is not running cause he knows his dad is going to resign at the end of his term and try and run for his Congressional seat from southwest Missouri!!!!!

Could not be happier to see him go. Why wait until January…..go ahead and leave.

So when is the indictment coming down? Or will Daddy Blunt be indicted in the Abramoff scandal? Somethings up. Politicians don’t decide no to run for another term because they accomplished everything already.

A potential vice-presidential candidate? Surely not. In that capacity, why does Blunt remind me of Dan Quayle?

I definitely smell a rat. As others have noted here, there’s no way the very young Mr. Blunt is merely declaring ”Mission Accomplished”. I, too, await the revelation of The Reason or The Plan. I certainly hope it has something to do with those ”missing” e-mails (tjust one of the illegal/unethical pages he took from the Cheney/Bush/Rove playbook (another being his non-disclosure of his corporate friends and travel benefactors). This story cries out for truth and clarification.

Where is Blunt headed? The same place the OA executives are headed….”where the worm dieth not…” (quoted directly from the Bible). That place is otherwise known as HELL. Hopefully the maggots repent,.

A state rep (R) on KMOX tonight said he thought Bond might resign and Baby Blunt would appoint Daddy senator, then try to get Daddy’s House seat. I’d prefer an earthquake before that.

The next few months should be interesting. The scramble to follow will be entertaining at the very least among the wanna be candidates. On top of that, there appears to be no reason for Blunt’s announcement. Personally I don’t see how anyone can pat themselves on the back with a job well done like he has and then announce that he will not be running again, especially in January during an election year. I’m guessing a rotten odor will permeate from Jefferson City rather soon regarding Gov. Blunt. Yes, the next few months will be interesting indeed.

I’m a Republican and could not stand this guy - he is DIRTY! I think that he is leaving office because his brother is a large shareholder in a ethynol plant. The state is holding back 18 million dollars in funding/loans because of his brothers conection to the state government (2 other crooked senators/relatives are also involved). His brother and the other scam artists in Jefferson City must sell their shares in the plant or the rest of the investors must come up with millions. He is a crook - so is his brother and all of his Jefferson City buddies that helped get him elected. This is a big time payback and I hope that Nixon drills him.
