What should Bush have said in his State of the Union?
President Bush, less than a year away from leaving office, gave his final State of the Union address tonight, offering little in the way of new initiatives — likely because, as the AP story says, “With his approval rating near its all-time low, Bush lacked the political clout to push bold ideas and he didn’t try.”
A major challenge for Bush in his address to Congress was simply being heard when many Americans already are looking beyond him to the next president.
Was that the case as you listened to Bush’s speech? Did you listen? And is there something you thought Bush should have said that he didn’t say?

The only thing a democrat will do to hurt me is raise my taxes if they are able. Other than that, I’ll continue living just as I do today. I can guarantee you I won’t be on a blog whining, bitching, and moaning like all the other sorry folks that think government owe them something or that taking from one group to give to another is the “American Way.”
If history is any guide, it very will might.
Sounds like those pockets are deep enough for everyone to enjoy the good life …don’t be so stingy.
Snarkily implying that those who oppose social parasitism are stingy is delightfully fascist. Who are you to tell others what to do with their money?
Get a job.
Lemmee tell you something Go_Fish……you can fool some of the people all of the time, and you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool me.

The NY Times reports that Bush used 6 paragraphs from previous “State of the Union” speeches.
It was a “cut and paste” job…Kind of like his presidency.
Have you done a useful thing in your life Garrison?
We all know that the New York Times loves President Bush and would never slant a story to paint him in a negative light. Every article will give him an objective report just like our own hometown rag.
