How can McCaskill best help Obama?
Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill, (D-Mo) has been very active lately in her support of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Sen. Barack Obama, (D-Ill.).
The Missouri Democrat has readily appeared on nationwide television and radio broadcasts, touting the benefits and reasons why Obama should be the nation’s next president.
According to a story in Wednesday’s Post-Dispatch, her increasing prominence as one of a handful of top surrogates in Obama’s presidential bid is increasingly being asked to appear on TV and campaign-trail appearances, as well as behind-the-scenes advice.
“She’s someone we have no hesitance in putting on TV or on the road because she understands and reflects the message of this campaign perfectly,” said David Axelrod, Obama’s chief campaign adviser. “She makes sense. She doesn’t sound like the typical Washington palaver.”
“She was with him early. She reaches out to women, which he needs to do after defeating Hillary Clinton and she’s from a swing border state,” said Larry Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia.
Peter Fenn, a Democratic strategist not affiliated with the Obama campaign, said McCaskill’s surprise endorsement last January helped cement her role in the operation.
All this has created new rumors about her prospects as a vice presidential candidate, and she’s repeatedly appeared on lists of possible choices.
Will Claire McCaskill be a plus or a minus for Obama’s campaign?

@ D. Walker
McCain has the experience Americans want.
Also McCain is not black.
@JD
Why copy paste all that? when you can just say…..
BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA IS BLACK.
flutter
I have no problem with having a black president. Condi Rice or Michele Steele are 2 that come to mind.
Bill,
Missourians need to quit crying about Iraq.
These soldiers GET PAID. And they are VOLUNTEERS!!
At least Blackwater soldiers don’t cry about their job.
McCain 08!
Aaron, I guess the 50 billion InBev is dropping here doesn’t count, eh? You don’t sound like an investment guy to me, but even if you are you must not be very good. If the best opportunities to make money, given whatever risk factor your client is willing to assume, is overseas, isn’t it your responsibility to point that out? A global economy means global investments, but of course all your broker buddies on Wall Street must know that, right? If you had econ 101 you would know wars tend to be better for economies, not worse, since spending increases. You would also probably know that since the war is in Iraq and not America investors would not be scared of investing IN America because our country is (and has been) the most stable country on Earth. Property and individual rights are protected here better than anywhere else on Earth, two components vital for investor trust. But don’t take my word for it, I got that from Alan Greenspan’s latest book, and he was only Federal Reserve Bank Chairman for all those years. You guys might even have a few of the same Wall Street buddies…
Stop trying to be something you aren’t. If you don’t like the war or Republicans than say that, but don’t make up junk in an attempt to sound like you are an expert on something because you just might get squashed by real knowledge.
I wonder if McCaskill isn’t considering a run herself in 2012. She has more tangible experience than the three top Democratic nominees combined and has a generally positive perception even among non-Democrats. The thing I would be concerned about if I were her is not tying her boat to closely to Obama’s. I have a feeling he’s headed for a spectacular loss in November.
If it was not for the fact of the seriousness and devastation this country is facing economically all because of Bush and his administrations policies. I would say give these blind people McCain.
This country is and has been run by oil businessmen Bush/Cheney. The world has become fed-up with these greedy blind men. Greed does make people stupid. And this is what we are all witnessing.
McCain will not be able to reestablish the necessary relationships that it would take to create the trust that will be needed to cause other countries to want to continue to work with America and slow down or cease taking out their country’s foreign exchange holding deposits out of the dollar and into the euro. Other countries are now looking at even the creation of a South American central bank designed to hold euros.
These foreign exchange deposits are being moved out of the U.S. at an unhealthy rate.
The sad fact is, I don’t think that most of our citizens will be able to sustain themselves with the faith that it would take to survive such hard times ahead if McCain is at the seat. Oil businessmen own McCain. These oilmen have been blinded with stupidity because of their greed. Our faith will be greatly tested regardless of who’s at the head seat, but if McCain is there, people have better get ready for the worst times that they could have ever dreamed of. We have all this to tend with on top of NAFTA, jobs leaving this country and companies closing down etc..
The sad truth is it will rain on the blind and corrupted in heart, just the same as the ones who can see and have hearts of good intentions. I have always believed because long ago it was placed into my heart that this election would be the last test offered to test Americans true heart condition.

Hey Slugger,
What happened to that guy at Claire’s family nursing home business that reported all that stuff that was going on…oh, that’s right, he got canned. Your right Slugger, she definitely knows a lot about whistleblowers…
Mesater, it’s not just Blackwater soldiers that don’t cry about their jobs…no other soldiers in any of the Armed Forces cry about their jobs. In fact, we just had the highest number of re-enlisters for the month of July in history. Soldiers become soldiers to fight. It’s true that many of them wish otherwise once they go through the hell of war…but they understand why they are there and why they are sacrificing for this country and for the freedom for the oppressed.
Tim,
Dont be absurd, INSTABILITY is the problem for investors. You are completely clueless.
Go back to community college and take econ 101.
With two simultaneous wars going on people with money are withdrawing from the U.S. at alarming rates. In 20 years, I’ve NEVER seen it this bad.
If you dont want to take my word for it, just search for “billionaires and u.S. divestment”
I process the paperwork for LARGE funds that come though our business. I have direct experience with the amount of investment leaving this country. No, I am NOT an investor but I do see the transactions.
Our dollar is in the tank and its not showing ANY signs of getting better.
If youve read Greenies book then you should know things are heading south…. FAST.
Oh and you should also know THE IRAQ WAR WAS ALL ABOUT OIL.
I dont have a problem with WAR for OIL.
I have a problem with Bush being a wuss about it and not telling the truth.
If he had not lied to everyone, I’d be fine with the situation.
