How can McCaskill best help Obama?

Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill, (D-Mo) has been very active lately in her support of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Sen. Barack Obama, (D-Ill.).

The Missouri Democrat has readily appeared on nationwide television and radio broadcasts, touting the benefits and reasons why Obama should be the nation’s next president.

According to a story in Wednesday’s Post-Dispatch, her increasing prominence as one of a handful of top surrogates in Obama’s presidential bid is increasingly being asked to appear on TV and campaign-trail appearances, as well as behind-the-scenes advice.

“She’s someone we have no hesitance in putting on TV or on the road because she understands and reflects the message of this campaign perfectly,” said David Axelrod, Obama’s chief campaign adviser. “She makes sense. She doesn’t sound like the typical Washington palaver.”

“She was with him early. She reaches out to women, which he needs to do after defeating Hillary Clinton and she’s from a swing border state,” said Larry Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia.

Peter Fenn, a Democratic strategist not affiliated with the Obama campaign, said McCaskill’s surprise endorsement last January helped cement her role in the operation.

All this has created new rumors about her prospects as a vice presidential candidate, and she’s repeatedly appeared on lists of possible choices.

Will Claire McCaskill be a plus or a minus for Obama’s campaign?

Breaking News

( Chicago ) Insiders say midwest morons will vote McCain because they are scared of teh ‘terrists and black men (even half black men are scary enough)!

Why do Midwesterners like McCain?

1. His name starts with the same letters as that fancy sit down cafe’ with the yellow “M”.

2. Black men should be playing football, not running a country

3. They think their paltry family income of $120,000 makes them wealthy and “upper class”.

4. Their $299 monthly payments on their Durango are “worth the price of gas”.

5. Obama is considered “elite” because he can speak well.

6. Two words: FLAG PIN

7. McCain is easy to spell.

8. Jesus tells them to vote for anyway.

9. Like McCain, they still think Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia still exist!

10. They think Obama is liberal.

I say continue the war, its only poor people that join the military anyway, and MO is full of them! By 2012, we should have less voters in MO!

Missouri is just Arkansas with shoes.

I landed on this page from another site, and I’m blown away by the amount of stupidity.

After reading these posts from Midwesterners, its easy to see they love their ignorance and their poverty.

@ LOLMO

You are very crude, but right.

The sad part is most people in the Midwest will benefit from Obama as president.

People on the coasts have more income potential and will be fine if this recession lasts. We are hit harder if only because we need to drive further to work and play. And you folks have public transit!

Its the people in the Midwest/south that will hurt from the continuance of the BUSH/McCain/Republican administration.

I HOPE WE SURPRISE THE WORLD COME NOV!!!!

Tim,

What are you talking about. Where have you requested of be to provide you with any information. A while back I provided you this information concerning Saudi’s 2 trillion dollar investment in Ameriica’s banks and stock market.

I will give you the advice everyone else here is giving you. Go do your research.

Tim,

Here’s the information again (An Article from “The Atlantic”.

See page 9, paragraph 4:

Just to make sure that no one upsets the workings of this system, perhaps by meddling in internal Saudi affairs, Saudi Arabia now keeps possibly as much as a trillion dollars on deposit in U.S. banks—an agreement worked out in the early eighties by the Reagan Administration, in an effort to get the Saudis to offset U.S. government budget deficits. The Saudis hold another trillion dollars or so in the U.S. stock market. This gives them a remarkable degree of leverage in Washington. If they were suddenly to withdraw all their holdings in this country, the effect, though perhaps not as catastrophic as having a major source of oil shut down, would still be devastating.

Matt, Ryan was far more correct than you will ever know.

Mike T, we have to commute farther here than on the coasts? The humor in that is almost undescribable. You ever been in rush hour in Boston or Los Angeles? Try finding a place to park in SF that doesn’t cost you $400 a month. Try getting anywhere in Miami at any time of the day or night. All the cities I have been to on the coasts have HUGE communte times, and that is WITH people using mass transit. I hope they do have more income potential on the costs because it can cost twice as much for the “privilege” of living out there. How, exactly, would the Midwest benefit from Obama in the White House? Would you give us a list of reasons why you believe this to be true?

LOL..MO, there is nothing better than a gutless post from someone who doesn’t list where they are from. Nicely done, you should swell with pride the next time you look in the mirror.

D, thanks for posting the link. Like I said, I tried to find what you were talking about and came up empty. Try not to get so bent out of shape next time. Finding that one article from several years ago is a needle in the haystack kind of thing, ya know?

Meanwhile, Alice and Aaron have disappeared into the sunset after making bogus claims and failing to back up their comments with reasonable thoughts or statistical data. Not unusual for this blog unfortuantely…
