It’s Biden; is that good or bad for Obama?

I wasn’t aware of the text message the text message hadn’t arrived by the time your friendly TOTD scribe sat down to write this. But the New York Times, AP and CNN say that Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware has been tapped by Barack Obama to be his running mate.

Oh, and did I mention it’s on Obama’s web site, too?

Here’s what the AP story says about it.

Biden, 65, has twice sought the White House, and is a Catholic with blue-collar roots, a generally liberal voting record and a reputation as a long-winded orator.

Across more than 30 years in the Senate, he has served at various times not only as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee but also as head of the Judiciary Committee, with its jurisdiction over anti-crime legislation, Supreme Court nominees and Constitutional issues.

So, the question is fairly straightforward. Does the perennial presidential candidate and long-time member of the senate help or hurt Obama on the ticket?

I’m a conservative, so I think it is a good choice for Republicans. The Messiah (Barry)is running with no experience except 145 days in the Senate and a community organizer in Chicago. He is running against the Washington establishment. So he picks a Washinton insider (35 years in the Senate) who I believe worked only 5 year in the private sector before being elected to the Senate. Biden has loose lips so he will make as many verbal errors as has the Messiah. He is a known plagerizer, but heck, he does have hair thanks to hair transplants. The Messiah (Barry) loves himslf, Joe Plagerizer loves himself, so I am sure the Libs are already swooming (except female Lib Hillary supporters. Great choice Messiah.

This election has been comical. The guy had Hillary there to win the election, and he passed her up for this Biden guy. Biden is kind of a feisty a#%hole who will not do any good in re-uniting Clinton supporters and thus bringing in the much needed votes for Obama to have a chance to defeat McCain. I think the best news in this election will come when McCain announces his veep choice, who I think could be Pawlenti from MN. He’s a class act, as is Mitt Romney, so something tells me November is going for McCain.

What happened to HOPE and CHANGE? Just goes to show that Barrak Hussein Obama is just another politician. At least we know who we are going to read about in 90% of the articles in the Dispatch the next 90 days.

That seals it for me.
In 2004, when Kerry considered choosing
Biden as his running mate, Biden urged Kerry to
choose McCain instead.
I’m voting for Nader.

First off, I love how Obama played the press, then things played out the way they always do in america…a leak…a scoop, and the rest is history. All the time O Man spent as an activist when the press wouldn’t listen , then he even had them camped outside all the sign making companies this week. BRILLIANT! LMAOROTF

Back to the question…well, I as a woman don’t particularly care for a man from a church that denies women equal rights and protects child molester priests since I assume he is still handing them cash. But we must have foreign affairs experience to please the hawks. I’ve never known Obama to make many major mistakes, and I know he thinks carefully before he acts and is his own man.

I’ll have to trust him on this one. Anything is better than a man who waits in the wings to accept 250 million from Karl Rove’s war chest and is of the party that “misplaced” all record of their hanky panky since before 2003. Still with ya O! Kicka Dey Buttocks…

And Hillary…girl, you better darned well have some silver tongue next week, da boyz set it all up to be quite a job to swing it around and get it sailing again.

Disaster.

Plain and Simple.

This is a train wreck.

First… I’m a conservative. I’ve been very concerned about the direction of my party and about the influences that have helped pervert the Republicans and the GOP away from authentic conservative values, and into the tool of Corporate America they have become.

Fact of the matter is… I was COUNTING on an Obama landslide this fall to purge my party of the Tom Delays, Phil Graham’s and the influence of Libertarian poseurs who have basically ran the party into the ground.

But, the selection of this moron as VP is a terrible sign that he’s not as politically savvy as everyone thought he was.

Joe Biden is a bitter partisan of low intellect and represents everything that Obama has been campaigning against. His entire of message of “CHANGE” is now - officially - swirling down the toilet along with his chances of a blow-out landslide in the fall.

This represents and EPIC failure of judgement on Obama’s part.

He had everything the Republican’s didn’t. Personality. Message. Speaking ability. Now he has NOTHING.

It was like trying to throw himself on the floor. And MISSING.

Looks like McCain has a chance now after all.

That’s bad news for the Democratic party, but in truth it’s even WORSE news for mine. A crabby, old white guy with anger management issues and more ties to Big Oil than you can shake a stick should have been a walk for Obama - and should have represented the last gasp of the “old school” of conservative thinking in our country.

Looks like it will live on for a bit longer.

This is a terrible choice for the Democrats. Now they have a Chicago Liberal and a Northeast Liberal on the same ticket. Their chances of winning are doomed! Together, they represent only about a third of the American people. The Republicans and John McCain must be dancing in the streets!

First of all, this election isn’t about “uniting Hillary supporters” — she lost, the end. The majority of the people chose Obama and that is that. This election is about bringing about much needed changes to this country. Take a look around people, don’t you see the mess we are in? It’s going to take decades to reverse some of this and the sooner we start the better.

Next, I have briefly read this morning about Biden and from what I can see this man is a good public servant who has served us well over the years. I could care less about his occassional flubs, because the man apparently has determination and the guts to stand up to people. His foreign policy experience is top-notch, and folks we desperately need that nowadays.

So get off the Hillary bandwagon, because this country does not revolve around her. Get off your high horses all together and take a look around you and realize this kingergarten tantrums are going to do nothing but ensure your children have no future at all.

Interesting choice!! In selecting Biden, Obama has slammed the door shut in the face of the Clintons and their women’s lib followers. Biden is an old warrior in the Democratic party and brings to the ticket experience in areas where Obama is lacking. I guess neither the Democratic Party nor the country is ready for that much Change!
