If by “heart” you mean “note card”, then yes, she spoke from the heart. But not hers. She’s the Palin puppet.

Biden simply could not have done any better at this debate. Palin did about as well as she was capable of, but that just isn’t saying much. Biden was the clear winner, and he nailed her on every false thing she said. What an idiot she was to criticize Obama’s voting record in cases where McCain voted the same way. Is she that coached on the talking points that she doesn’t even bother to look at their voting records in order to make an informed statement? She didn’t do as poorly as I had expected, but nonetheless, she is unqualified, and the thought of having her in charge of the country is simply terrifying. I am glad that many conservatives are stepping up for the good of the country and saying that she has no business as VP. Thank you.

Palin spoke from the heart? God, I would have loved evidence of just a little brain.

with the standards set so miserably low, Palin did what she was coached to do…What galls me the most is that McCain had so many QUALFIED GOP women to pick from for a running mate. If this is “Country First” then why pick someone who only appeals to the religious right with regards to anti abortion? Is this good for the country?…to have someone who is totally unqualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency??? I think it is “do whatever you need to to appeal to a certain base”. It has nothing to do with putting Country first. would I let my 12 year old drive my car? not a chance! would I let a “hockey Mom with lipstick” run the coutry”? not on your life.

come on people! Wake up and smell the coffee? (I’m suprised Palin didn’t use that line!)

Listen, Sarah Palin said it best with this slip of the tongue, “John McCain is the man we need to leave.” She means, lead. Ooops. Adorable.

Neither one ‘won’ so I’m sticking with McCain/Palin.
If McCain had sit in a church like Wrights for 20+ years, associated with people like Ayres and called the American people a bunch of bitter folks that cling to their guns and religion, he would be destroyed. But lets all give Obama a pass and drink some more kool-aid.

It’s time to get the government out of the people’s business and let the free market work the way it is supposed to do. Reduce taxes and reduce spending as was done in the Reagan years and watch our economy grow at exponential rates. End the restrictions on energy exploration within our borders and watch the world turn green with envy at our economic independence. Eliminate the economic killing preferences to give loans to persons unable to qualify according to time tested and proven criteria, and Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae would become unecessary and extinct, and we wouldn’t have these bank failures. Sarah nailed it. Biden speaks the same old same old that got us into trouble since the Carter loans and Iran appeasement and Clinton ignore the middle east years. It IS time for change. Throw the bums out! Put some real leadership in, proven leadership - the ONLY proven leadership is McCain and Palin. Barrack is an empty suit, unproven and untested, and if he lives up to what he says, will destroy freedom of speech, the right to own and bear arms, and the right to life, and Biden long ago proved himself a tax and spend liberal.

If all you have are “zingers” and little thought behind them, then you must be Henny Youngman (”Take my wife, please”).

Too much of McCain’s effort in the first debate was spent on sarcasm. Palin’s tendency toward “one-liners”, while popular in high school, wears thin after a while.

While these “zingers” play well for the already committed, they add nothing to a debate.

I was interested that Palin stated that Biden was doing “too much finger-pointing backward.” I guess that means that the study of history is of no consequence to her. Of course, without an understanding of history, we have no ability to correct our past mistakes. Which I think means that we’d essentially get 4 more years of Bush if McCain and Palin are elected. Her quips were silly and detracted from what should have been a serious debate. The winking was high-school and hardly appropriate in a future national leader.

My favorite was Palin referring to the Senator from Delaware as O’Biden.

Palin’s zingers (and there were many) were her refusal to answer the questions being asked. Obviously, she’s never had debate training. The trick is to answer the question asked, and then twist it to your own purposes. But as others have noted, that requires a brain. I thought she was Dorothy with a toy husky. But it is obvious now we are being asked to vote for the Scarecrow. Beware the little man behind the curtain!

Half the posters here are as mean and unfair to Palin as Rush Limbaugh is to Biden.

Bill -
When you said, “Half the posters here are as mean and unfair to Palin as Rush Limbaugh is to Biden.”, doers this meanb you think she should be treated any better than she has treated Senator Obama?

That is the problem with the “zinger” mentality it partakes too much of “your mama is so fat…”, and, not enough of actually speaking to the issue/question at hand.

No momama this Democrat is not blind. I have seen 8 yrs of republican rule and I am not sure I can make it another 4 yrs. Give me a break, McCain is about change, thats a joke. Palin is a joke, she couldn’t name one supreme court ruling when she was interviewed. Oh wait she was attacked by that Liberal media commy loving reporter. Guess what I remember talking about supreme court rulings as a freshman in high school. Wow keep sipping your Kool-aid. McCain wants to tax my health care insurance, so much for no new taxes–excpet for us working class people. Or is this really about Obama being black. I know one thing hes 100 times smarter than most of us on this blog.

The problem with Palin is that her speeches amount to nothing more than a series of “zingers”. She’s the Fred Mertz on I LIVE LUCY; she’s the Frank Barrone on EVERYONE LOVES RAYMOND. No more than 3 lines ever comes out of their mouths at any given time. And in Palin’s case, I’ve never heard more than 3 substantive words ever come out of her mouth!

I’m just amazed at how the democratic voters believe everything that comes out of Biden and Obama’s mouth’s, apparently everyone is forgetting the years prior to Bush that they were in the White House and passed everything that has put us where we are today! As well as the last 2 years that have been the worst of the last 8 and look where the democrats being in charge have gotten us?! If we listen to Obama, Jobs in America come before our troops protecting us in these terrorist countries we’ll be hosed. What difference does it make if we create jobs, if we get blown to smithereens jobs won’t mean squat!
