Good debate prep - but underneath it, Palin is still the idiot in the Couric interviews.

Way to dodge questions. When asked about Achilles’ Heels, Cheney’s views on the VP, and several other questions, Palin launched once again into her tired-two-weeks-ago, PowerPoint bullets talking strategy. One can only shake one’s head in disbelief. It was as if you asked the governor what her favorite food was, and she said, “blue.”

I was reminded of the scene in Billy Madison -

“Nowhere in your rambling, incoherent response did you come close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. We are all dumber for having listened to it.”

It’s a lot more fun to be in front of the camera when you can pretend you didn’t hear the question and just start spouting pseudo-patriotic gobbledy gook nonsense and robotically repeating the “keywords” Karl “Turd Blossom” Rove told you to say. Biden was smarter, knew his stuff, and didn’t insult everyone’s intelligence - because he actually chose to answer the questions.

Please, what debate were you watching? Palin did very well, but she could have taken more shots at Biden and Obama. As surprising as it may seem for the followers of The One, the fact that Biden says something doesn’t make it so. Passion for the middle class?! Sure… And now he wants to send more soldiers to Afghanistan. Sure.. until soldiers are actually sent, and then they’ll oppose again to the failed (sic) surge strategy. Biden says that he learned not to question his adversaries motives, only their judgment. Nice and fair, but he also thinks that he should be judged by his intentions, not by the flaws in their big government plans. Just because he says that he cares about “those in his neighborhood,” doesn’t mean that his policies will actually help. We know they won’t.

Palin would make a great salesman! All these folks line up to buy whatever cr@p she wants to sell them.

Most notable news from Palin was her expressed opinion that the vice presidency could grow in power. After Cheney, that’s a horrifying thought. Also, I was struck by her utter disregard for Biden when he spoke of losing his wife and children, returning instead to her talking points. That was cold and creepy, and contrasted shockingly with her peppy, family values shtick.

Palin did ok…more’s the pity. She is still an idiot who appeals more to the emotional side of Americans than the intellectual which should be the standard for a candidate.
The most frightening thing I can conceive is Palin as President.

Palin came across as the “stepford candidate”… if she couldn’t read her index cards, she had no idea what to say. On to of that, she failed to answer the questions and instead fell back to her talking points. Biden, to the contrary answered the questions presented.

Biden was clearly the winner when the question is “Who is qualified to be President if the President were to die in office”

Palin showed she was a regular person. But she had that going in, the question for me was will she be a competent Vice President and will her ticket fundamental alter what we’ve gone through these last eight years. I didn’t get an answer to either of those questions.

Biden won all the way! He answered the questions using logic and facts!

Palin told her typical “folksy” stories and worked her way around answering the questions. She kept going back to the “energy” topic when it wasn’t even the topic of the question. It also seemed like she was reading from a memorized script.

Obama/Biden are for the middle-class. They are not going to raise your taxes unless you make at least $250,000. McCain/Palin are not going to give you a tax cut unless you make at least $250,000.

McCain/Palin also want to start taxing businesses on their employees health coverage. What employer will go for that? Not many, if not any! Many Americans will be forced to get their own insurance and pay for it out of their own pocket. Therefore, it will lead to many Americans living w/o health insurance. The health industry will be a disaster!

I am for Obama/Biden, because they are for helping the middle-class, which in turn will boost the economy!

Biden was able to speak intelligently about specific goals and specific facts (spending, education, engery, energy consumption, health care solutions, and more.) The McCain-Palin ticket only seems to know about war and fighting, in fact ‘Fight!’ is even their slogan! How about investing here at home? Let’s bring our young minds home from Iraq and see what wonderful things they have to contribute here at home. Let’s keep those billions of dollars out of Iraq and invest them here at home! Let’s vote for change. Go Obama-Biden!
