Maybe New Year resolutions should be don’t ask, don’t tell

So we’re moving from 2008 to 2009, and we all know what that means. It’s New Year’s resolution time.

USA Today reports that a lot of the resolutions seem to reflect the tough economic times. A few celebrities are making some resolutions, according to MSNBC.

A year ago, a bunch of folks running for president talked about their New Year’s resolutions in Iowa.

What about you? Making resolutions is easy; sticking to them can be a little tougher. Maybe it depends on the type of resolution — doesn’t everyone want to lose a little weight? Gym memberships typically soar in January, and attendance falls off by February. My dad always said “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.”

Talk about your intentions for 2009. And, have a happy new year, too!

I intend to be the same person I was in 08. I intend to control things in my life that I can control and not give a moments thought to things I can’t control.

Life goes on!!

I say make resolutions you know you can do, not the ones you know you will abandon by mid-January.

Mine include:

Watch more televison
Take up procrastinating
Be active on the stltoday.com Blogzone

My resolutions, easy to fulfill, include a great sense of accomplishment.

I don’t usually make New Years resolutions. There are things I’d like to do and some things I’d like to do better. The time of year I decide to take action is a variable.

Happy New Year to all you bloggers! I hope you all find peace and prosperity in the new year.

I was a troublemaker this year and I resolve to be a bigger troublemaker next year.

Oops, don’t ask and don’t tell; I made boobo.

Why make a promise to yourself that you won’t keep. If a new year is the only reason for you to change your lifestyle, it ain’t gonna work.

My resolutions for 2009 are to exercise more, and to be a more humble person. Sort of that “better person on the inside and the outside” thing.

My wish for everyone is that we can finally understand that although everyone has different opinions, in the end we are all human and deserve consideration and respect.

Peace and blessings to all of you for 2009!

To live through another year loving my life, working hard, and keeping my head up.

New Years resolutions are a joke as every one of them gets broken because you lied to youself. Does one really think that they will change their human habbits overnight? Those resolution statements are usually made in a social setting involving the topic. Most people do not listen to themselves. I wish everyone a safe and healthy New Year!

I made a new years resolution 15 years ago to never make another new years resolution. So far, so good…
