What should George Clooney do while he’s in town?

George Clooney

George Clooney

As we brainstormed this idea in the newsroom, my colleague Amanda St. Amand had a quick answer: George Clooney should visit her house! Put aside the fact that Mandy is married. She’d be happy to send him a MapQuest link to her abode.

But with the hunky movie star coming to town to film Up in the Air, we thought it would be fun to recommend stuff Clooney should be sure to do while he’s in the area. Crews were supposed to start setting up yesterday and production could be going on for about five months.

No idea yet how long Clooney will be in the ‘hood. But let’s assume it’ll be for a few months, on-and-off. Besides the Arch and the brewery tour (which I shared with my brother’s family over Christmas), what else would you recommend?

Oh, and one last thing: If you think this is a dumb topic, keep your thoughts to yourself and go over here, where I’m sure you can find a nice discussion about Iraq, or the banking crisis.

Stay away from the police dept. and out of the impound lot.

Since George boy is a beer drinker, I think that he should visit the smallest tavern in the city of St. Louis, Silverleaf. The good ole boys in there would certainly entertain him. Plus, he would not get swarmed by anyone there. He could actually sit back and enjoy a beer with any bother.

He should visit the eastside and tour the many adult clubs that are at his disposal. Hustler Club or Diamond. Just ask for Sunshine Georgio, don’t bother with these boring housewives who have just come off of over eating during the holidays and are in sad shape…You want a real woman, look me up…

Well, if he doesn’t come to my house maybe either he can meeting me in the Central West End or Midtown. SubZero for vodka, sushi and burgers would make a great date! Some Jazz at the Bistro may be relaxing! Or a nice bottle of wine at Triumph Grill!

He should visit Citizen Kane’s in Kirkwood. Its the best steakhouse in the midwest. The Delmonico steak is the best I have ever had. Its all I get when I go.

GC needs to call John Goodman and hang out with him when he comes in. SOUTH SIDE Style
Also an imos pizza should be in order there and Ted Drews to finish it off.

He’ll stay in his suite at the Four Seasons and that will be it. Nothing to see/do in this cowtown. Would probably get robbed if he ventured out downtown.

Rats! I missed George Clooney when he was here in Switzerland. He was in Zürich at a $1000 a ticket party for Obama which I couldn’t afford on my teacher salary. Now he’s going to be in my home town, and my Fulbright doesn’t end until June. Oh well. He’s very interested in international issues like refugees and global warming. Send him to the International School to meet some of the people who are coming to St. Louis from all over the world. Then send him to the Missouri Botanical Garden. Dr. Peter Raven can fill him in on what our world class garden is doing to preserve endangered plants and to catalog plant life which may have medicinal value. Then send him back to Switzerland. I’m in Basel, and I would love to meet him!
