The Bird’s Birthday
Good morning Bird watchers!
Today, on the old Weatherbird’s 107th birthday we are launching a new blog called The Bird’s Nest, devoted to all things Weatherbird and cartooning. For starters, what did you think of today’s Weatherbird and of the video of me drawing it?
Dan Martin has been designer and illustrator at the Post-Dispatch for over 27 years. In addition to sketching everything from mob trials to the World Series, he draws the weekly comic strip "Postcard from Mound City" and, for the past 22 years, the daily front page Weatherbird. 
Fredbird and the Weatherbird, my two favorite fowl.

My personal favorite is when the Weatherbird raids Mrs. Weatherbird’s closet and dresses up like a woman. The Weatherbird is in touch with his feminine side.
The kids like seeing the Weatherbird family, especially the little birds, in the ad.
