In God we text
You know what happens when I take a day off? The Bird line list gets lost.
There have been a couple of interesting examples of communication, interactivity and immediacy lately. A few weeks ago, CNN started a show with anchor Rick Sanchez, who immediately responds to viewers’ questions and comments, which they send in via Twitter or Facebook. (The Weatherbird is working on a similar project — I’ll keep you posted.)
More locally, Morning Star Church in O’Fallon, Mo., is encouraging church-goers to text questions during the sermon — and the Rev. Mike Schreiner is able to immediately answer them. Can you imagine? Being encouraged to text at church? (Interestingly, most of the people who answered our poll said they couldn’t — and that this kind of technology doesn’t belong in church. Add your vote now.)
