Rumor is that Highway 40 will open sooner than we originally thought. (At what point do we stop calling it Highway 40 and switch to Interstate 64? The Missouri Department of Transportation already calls it I-64, so I’m sure it’s only a matter of time.)
Now, how much sooner than originally thought? Maybe a month; MoDOT is still hedging its bets on this one. Of course, the next stage of the plan means they’ll close Hwy. 40 between Kingshighway and Interstate 170.
