For commuters, Hwy. 40 is the new 64

Even though it wasn’t picked as today’s Bird line, Highway 40 really was smooth sailing yesterday — the first day the new stretch of highway was open in nearly a year. In fact, a couple of commuters wondered if people just didn’t realize the stretch from I-170 to I-270 was open again. Maybe. Or maybe the winter weather kept a few of them home.
If you haven’t ventured out on the new highway, take a look at what awaits: Videographer Huy Mach took the grand tour from the driver’s seat and the pilot’s seat. (Did I mention how cold it was? That helicopter ride had to be quite brisk.)
