What should the Weatherbird say about Christmas chaos?
Christmas is typically some version of controlled chaos — it’s loud and rather messy, but tends to create fond memories.
Take, for example, Santa. Like the photo submitted by Gluten Free Mom, the otherwise jolly man seems to cause a lot of crying and screaming. Malls start playing carols and holiday-themed songs right after Halloween. Then there are parties and gatherings, trips to the mall and airport, cooking and gift-wrapping and all sorts of holiday traditions.
Theologians and pastors say the true spirit of the religious holiday is found in silence. Just before Christmas in 2003, Pope John Paul II said silence was a key to the mystery of Christ’s birth. Silence “is able to hear the singing of the Angels and the cry of the Babe and does not let them drown in noise and confusion,” he said.
Do you observe some part of the Christmas in silence?

Christmas is about:
1 - lying to children
2 - deforestation
3 - rampant overspending
4 - blurring the lines between religion, folklore, and reality
5 - assuming everyone you meet is Christian
Have him say something to that effect.
