Illinois Senate to governor: Bla-go!
The Illinois Senate unanimously voted to remove Gov. Rod Blagojevich from office soon after the copy desk finished “Bird-lining” — the process of coming up with suggestions for the Bird line. Luckily, they had predicted Blagojevich would be shown the door, so we didn’t have to change already-in-motion plans. The Senate also voted to ban Blagojevich from ever serving in a state public office again. (See a timeline of Blagojevich’s political career.) Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn was sworn in as governor just a few minutes later.
The Blagojevich Weatherbirds have been some of my favorite. Today’s Bird line: Bla-go!
