Cable company tries to Charter a new course with bankruptcy

Charter Communications announced Thursday that it will file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Chapter 11 lets the business reorganize; Charter will not go out of business. The company provides cable service to about 37 percent of the TVs in St. Louis. Officials said service will continue and no layoffs are planned.
