Mariah is back and better than ever
I’ve spent most of the ‘90s and most of the 2000s resisting Mariah Carey’s music, and feeling better for it.
She’s always been this terrible mix of boring and bland for me, and it wasn’t until 2005’s “The Emancipation of Mimi” that I could even listen to a Carey CD from top to bottom (and what a great CD that was for her, and for me).
And now, I can’t seem to stop playing “E=MC2,” in stores April 15. Ever since Def Jam serviced me with the CD last week, I’ve been all over it.
I’m digging minimalist first single “Touch My Body,” “Migrate” featuring T-Pain (the song that sounded a fiery mess on “Saturday Night Live,” which actually sounds great in its recorded version), and future possible hits such as “O.O.C” and “Side Effects.”
Her comeback, one of the decade’s most remarkable, is sure to continue.

Kevin,
Mariah needs an EXTREME MAKEOVER; she is a hot mess and looks the same hot mess as she did when she first appeared. How many miniskirts can one ”whore-like” woman own? Haven’t we already seen her in the tube-top socks and ponytails before? I look forward to hearing her music but as far as her visual presentations–enough already!
I know what you mean Vincent.
But actually, when she first came around, in the early 90’s,
she was pretty and hot with that long, tight-curled hair.
I only have her first cd, but from what I’ve heard, that was
probably her best.
Just my opinion.
dont sleep on Mariah….the last cd was hot! while it didnt show her great vocal range, it still gave us some great tunes.
as far as her visual presentations, most of the artist today look alike, sound alike….if it sells, its the look!
