Things are up and running again on the Van Halen tour, allowing St. Louis fans to honestly believe come Saturday, they’ll finally get the chance to see the rockers after two postponements at Scottrade Center.

The challenged tour, featuring a reunion with David Lee Roth, returned to the road last week in Reno, with Eddie Van Halen’s widely-debated yet undisclosed medical concerns apparently behind him.

Here’s the set list Van Halen used in Reno, which should not be unlike the one used for the St. Louis show.

“You Really Got Me”

“I’m the One”

“Runnin’ With the Devil”

“Romeo Delight”

“Somebody Get Me a Doctor”

“Beautiful Girls”

“Dance the Night Away”

“Atomic Punk”

“Everybody Wants Some”

“So This is Love”

“Mean Street”

“Pretty Woman”

Drum solo

“Unchained”

“I’ll Wait”

“And the Cradle Will Rock”

“Hot for Teacher”

“Little Dreamer”

“Little Guitars”

“Jamie’s Cryin”

“Ice Cream Man”

“Panama”

Guitar solo (including “Cathedral” and “Eruption”)

“Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love”

“1984″/”Jump”

When are these old men going to retire? They need to before one of them breaks a hip, or has a heart attack. They were good in their day, but that was 30 years ago. I guess just keep the oxygen tanks near by, and things should go ok. I like the old studio stuff, but their voices have gotten raspy from the sex, booz, and drugs. If they managed their money right they should be producing new bands with simular sounds. I saw them in concert back in the old Kiel, back when you could fire up, and catch a buzz on whatever you wanted, without the police state busting you. concerts will never be the same. Jim an old stoner from the good old days.

This is my third time seeing them on this tour and if it is anything like the Omaha show, it will be one of the best concerts to hit in years! They sound unbelievable and prove why Van Halen ala Diamond Dave is the true essence of the greatest american band ever!
P.S. —Jim, sounds like you are the cranky old man with the “things were better in my day” attitude. Take a puff from your oxygen tank and follow it up with your joint….I’ll be rocking live to Van Halen tonight with my kids!

Eddie Vanhalen was born with a gift that many people would kill to have and he shares his gift with his brother and son. I am so glad that David is singing on this tour and I hope many more will come. Vanhalen and David Lee Roth have a perfect chemistry about them that is left unmatched. They compliment each other perfectly. I saw them in Detroit and I could not believe what I have heard as well as what my eyes have seen. I saw Vanhalen 12 times previously and Eddie played better than ever. No one can ever hold a candle to him and if it was not for him we would have never had the other great guitar players we have today. Joe Satriani and Steve Vai to name a few. Enjoy the show. People who have any negative things to say do not understand what music is all about. Lee Held
