Welcome to my blog
The last thing the blogsphere needs is a new blog.
That’s been just one of the excuses I’ve used to justify my not having a blog after all this time, despite my editors’ suggestions telling me how much they’d like one with my imprint.
Everyone has a blog, there’s too many out there, and I express myself plenty already in the pages of the Post-Dispatch. What more is there to say?
But at long last, admittedly behind the curve, but behind the curve for the last time, here’s my very own blog. It’s the Blender, a mix of music and nightlife tidbits I’m hoping you won’t be able to do without. What I love about it is it’s allowing me to give that music/nightlife news more quickly than I could’ve before.
And quite frankly, I can’t think of a more perfect way to celebrate my tenth anniversary at the Post-Dispatch.

Kevin C. Johnson has covered the St. Louis' music and nightlife scene for the past decade.
Kevin,
Wow! 10 years. Congratulations. Not one mention of that prior to now. I surely hope that great editors of the Post-Dispatch properly acknowledged your milestone with something special.
I am excited to check out your daily posts here. You are a busy man about town and it is always fun to read your reviews and articles and I certainly expect the same here. It’s about time! I have a great idea–in light of the recent article on the “society pages”…how about you take a camera along with you post hot pics too!
i agree with everything Vincent wrote….
this blog will give you a chance to place the ”smaller” shows in the spotlight….where great artist are featured but overlooked because of the venue size.
keep pushing!
Wow! Ten years! Congrats.
I am so happy you finally agreed to a blog. I will be looking regularly because I enjoy your articles.
