Atomic Cowboy rolls out more Cinco de Mayo
We know all about the Cinco de Mayo happenings Friday-Saturday in Florissant at the Valley of the Flowers Festival, and Saturday on St. Louis’ Cherokee Street neighborhood.
But don’t forget the Cinco de Mayo celebration of Mexican culture jumping off Saturday-Monday at Atomic Cowboy, 4140 Manchester Avenue.
The nightclub’s three-day Cinco de Mayo party begins at noon Saturday with its Vamos a La Playa event, a mega-street party featuring a beach-on-the street setup.
Tons of sand will be dumped on Talmage Street adjacent to Atomic Cowboy, where there will be live music, dancing, and DJs with Samba Bom, Rio Dio, and El Caribe Tropical with DJ Latin Power. Host Gilberto Pinela of STL TV keeps it moving.
Saturday’s party also features a sexy volleyball tournament, swimsuit fashions, and a Mexican-style disco inside with DJ Raven and go-go girls crew the Painted Pixies. Revelers can also have their picture taken Tijuana-style; the photo opportunities benefit Live Feed.
The second day of the party Sunday is a Salsa Social with Latin and Salsa dance lessons, with Rio Dio performing on the patio.
The party wraps Monday, the actual Cinco de Mayo, with Atomic Cowboy opening its doors for the first time on a Monday, with KDHX-FM (88.1) radio personality Carlos G. Charles of the “Alma Latina” program on hand.
The nightclub will remain open on Mondays for lunch, happy hours, dinner, and entertainment.
