Cafe Soul is taking it to the streets for May Day Parade Sunday
Cafe Soul, St. Louis’ monthly R&B open mic event, is stepping outside of its comfortable Lucas School House environment.
Café Soul and McDonald’s are pulling together their resources for the McDonald’s May Day Bluesfest at 4 p.m. Sunday at Kiener Plaza, following the Annie Malone May Day Parade.
Café Soul will host the Bluesfest, and will bring out performers, some of them regular performers at Cafe Soul, including Café Soul host Coco Soul, Kim Massie, Lamar Harris, Justin Hoskins, Tydis, Mocha Latte, Slky Soul, SOSY, C. Jay Conrad, Tru Lyric, Bobby Williams, Shelley Miller, and more.
“Finally, we are able to bring Café Soul to the masses. The show will not only feature the talent we enlisted, but we will also open the microphone to anyone in the audience who may want to perform,” says Café Soul partner Angela Brown.
The next regular Cafe Soul is 8 p.m. Friday at Lucas School House. Admission is $10.
