Tom Waits is expected to play the Fox Theater June 26, according to an odd press conference he staged Monday morning.

Waits’ press conference was made to look as if it was full of paparazzi hungry for details on his tour. But at the end of press conference, as revealed on his web site and You Tube, he was talking to an empty room full of empty chairs. A record player revealed the questions were staged, and the laughter and chatter were canned. 

Waits has dubbed the trek the Glitter and Doom tour. It begins June 17 in Phoenix. He’ll only play 13 shows.
