Gospel name Calvin Rodgers offers master class locally
Calvin Rodgers, a gospel music heavyweight of sorts mostly known for serving as contemporary gospel artist Fred Hammond’s musical director, comes to town at 4 p.m. Sunday for “An Essential Drummer’s Master Class” session.
It goes down at Greater Faith M.B. Church, 4114 W. Natural Bridge. General admission is $20, and private instruction by Rodgers is $35. Call 314-757-2830 or email k2music@sbcglobal.net.
Rodgers has collaborated with Aretha Franklin, Ramsey Lewis, R. Kelly, Karen Clark-Sheard, Martha Munizzi, Clark Sisters, Marvin Sapp, and more. The event is presented by Kevin Kelly and K2 Music.
