Gretchen Wilson dons cap and gown, walks the walk

Gretchen Wilson made good Thursday on her promsie to earn the high school degree she abandoned in the ninth grade.

While living the life of a Grammy-winning country star, the “Redneck Woman” from Pocahontas, Il., has been working on receiving her GED. And on Thursday her studies paid off as she attended a graduation ceremony in Wilson County near Nashville.

Wilson is currently working on her next CD and tour.

Now I get why she’s such a fan of George W. Bush…a GED at her age…wow…her family must be so proud of such an accomplishment-before you know it, she’ll be living in a double-wide and getting satellite TV…oops…she already is…sorry.

I applaud her. She at least had the bravery to admit she was wrong for dropping out and tried to correct her mistake. That is more than some dropouts will do.

Gretchen is setting a tremendous example about the importance of an education, and reaching your personal goals. Certainly, she doesn’t need the GED to advance in her job, she’s reached the top levels of success in her profession. By participating in a very public way in this graduation, she is sending a positive message to her young fans.

To “Toby Keith”

There is not much to say about your comment other than we all know which orifice you are speaking from.

As for Gretchen Wilson, I am not a fan of her music but I am a fan of anyone whom furthers their education. Knowledge is power. Knowledge is freedom. Good for her, hopefully she will take the next step and continue her education.

What a wonderful thing for Gretchen to do, setting an example for all those dropouts to follow..She is showing the world how eduacation really is.I am sure she doesn’t need to get a better job but knows it is very important to get her GED..Just think, if toby keith would get his GED, he could move up out of the toilet and off welfare..
