Isn’t this a mistake? I think it is Steelers Wheel that was announced. I hope it was. Steely Dan has no hits. Steelers Wheel rocks with Stuck in the Middle With You. I would go to Steelers Wheel.

“Steely Dan has no hits.”

Hey, I woke up one morning, and The Blender had turned into a comedy blog!

I thought they were at Riverport August 1, 1993.

“Steely Dan has no hits?” I’m confused….also, Riverport wasn’t a a theater, it was an amphitheater…just to be clear. Thank all of you so far for commenting!

No one ever said Riverport was a theatre! Ridiculous prices for a band that is not around anymore!

“Steely Dan has no hits?” Must be a youngster that wrote that. Can’t believe that Steely Dan is coming to town, and in a more intimate setting that a large concert venue. Can’t wait! See you there!

I recently tracked down a copy of Stealer’s Wheel’s Ferguslie Park CD. The two Scotsmen, Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty were quite delightful together, although I must admit I am still sick of hearing Stuck in the MIddle With You. Some better songs on the LP/CD are: Star, Everything Will Turn Out Fine, oh crap, they are all good. Still with only a limited run, I don’t think you could say they have approached Steely Dan. If I am in town, I will try to attend.

OK, Steely Dan does have Peg. So they are tied. A good concert would be both bands, at Six Flags.

It is about time. Steely Dan is a classic act. For those of you who are talking about some other group, you need to get on the band wagon. These guys are awesome. Sit back and listen to them, it will be well worth it.

Wow, talk about casting pearls before swine…Steely Dan announced for the Fox theater and the ignorant masses begin whining they have ”no hits.” Well, Steely Dan has never really been about making hits–though they have had their share. Songs like ”Do It Again,” ”Reelin’ in the Years,” ”Rikki, Don’t Lose That Number,” ”Peg,” ”Josie,” ”Time Out of Mind,” ”Hey 19,” and ”Cousin Dupree” among them. They’re the preeminent jazz/rock artists of the modern era with intricate music performed by the best available musicians. ”Not around anymore–” Duhhhhh! They played on Labor Day ’06 at Verizon! Walter Becker released a new CD on JUNE 10TH!
Kids, don’t post here if you have no clue what you’re talking about….

Sorry, never heard of those songs. I do like Peg. I like Steelers Wheel better, I don’t think there is any question they could fill the Fox many more times than Steely Dan. But I don’t mean any offense to Steely Dan, who is definitely a good singer.

Wow, Cousin Dupree. I don’t listen to my iPod much, but it seems like every time I do, I have to hear that one. Don’t forget My Old School. Which was also a great bar in Collinsville back in the day.

Obviously, this will be a great show. But I just can’t do those prices. I’d rather see a couple of shows at the pageant than pay this.

I had the pleasure of seeing Steely Dan two years ago at UMB/Riverport/Verison and it was a great show…I imagine the concert at the Fox will be the same show but an intimate setting…it started to rain toward the end of the show but people were not ready to leave and we actually stood in the rain until the concert was over….

I saw Steely Dan perform at Riverport back in August of 1993. One of the best concerts I’ve ever attended. If I still lived in St. Louis, I wouldn’t miss the Fox show. I hope to catch them on the west coast later this summer. $55-85 for Steely Dan is very reasonable for Don and Walt. These guys are geniuses.
