Concert announcement: Todd Rundgren at the Pageant
Look out for a July 23 concert date for Todd Rundgren at the Pageant, according to the artist’s newly-released summer tour schedule.
Ticket information and on-sale date is not yet available, and the Pageant hasn’t officially announced the show.
Rundgren is set to celebrate his 60th birthday with a weeklong celebration beginning June 16 in Hawaii. His birthday is June 22.
Rundgren’s upcoming CD is “Arena.”

Kevin C. Johnson has covered the St. Louis' music and nightlife scene for the past decade.
Todd will likely start his concert out by announcing: “Hello, it’s ME!” If it’s too bright on stage I may not see Todd, by I may be able to tell people later on “I Saw the Light.” Todd used to be accompanied by all male backup singers until his band announced to him “We Gotta Get You a Woman.” When the band expressed anger at Todd refusing their suggestion he asked for their forgiveness, and wondered out loud “Can We Still Be Friends?” They explained to him that “Time Heals” the wounds you cannot see. I have to work on July 23rd when the concert is scheduled, but I don’t want to work, I want to bang on the drum all day.” I’m so excited about Todd coming to the Pageant next month . . . he’s such an “Individualist!” He’s “Nearly Human.” I hope he get’s his “Second Wind” once he hits 60! All I know for sure, is Todd is Godd. Thanks for the concert update, Kevin. I can’t wait!
To Everyone that hasn’t seen TODD RUNDGREN, Had better go to see this Artist, because he will be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. You see Todd is a Musical True Star!!!
I’ve seen the show - I’ve heard the CD - they both are not worth your time nor money, IMO. (you should check it out for yourself, though, just be aware) True musical stars do not berate their audience as rundgren did at both shows I saw. Arena is nothing more than an old man trying to cling to his youth. And musically, it is not even close to what rundgren CAN do, if he puts his mind to it. For years, I went to his shows and put up with the obvious lack of practicing and obviuous lack of consideration toward his fans. This last experience has me very disappointed in a musician whom I’ve supported for over three decades. Hey Todd - go see a shrink for whatever crisis you’re going through - cuz you’re not very entertaining by screaming like an 18 year old into the mic and playing like a 16 year old in a garage.
