Skybox preps for Super Jam pre-party;after-parties flowing too

Super Jam with T.I., Keyshia Cole, Chingy, and too many other artists to even think about isn’t until Saturday afternoon at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, but the party is starting Friday at the Skybox on Laclede’s Landing.

The Loose Cannon-sponsored pre-party/meet-and-greet begins at 9 p.m. Friday at the new Nelly co-owned hotspot, with free admission until 10 p.m.

Promoter Mocha Latte can’t say which Super Jam artists will be in the house, but assures some will attend.

Three official Super Jam after-parties are taking place as well. The one at the Old Rock House begins at 9 p.m. Saturday, and features Bun B. The after-party at the Loft is at 10 p.m. Saturday, and the after after party is at 10 p.m. Saturday at Club Casino.

Call 314-646-9917 for information on the pre-party, www.hot104stl.com for after -party info, and www.ticketmaster.com for Super Jam concert information.

I’m glad that St. Louis is finally getting these type of events and I can only hope that the folks at 104.1 does this every year because we as a city deserve it!

Nice event to plan, but the Skybox is not were the action is:( A recent visit about three weeks ago involved extremely poor service, lack of color (1 or 2 chips in the cookie), an abundance of gratuity overages, and the police! My party of 25+ guest, celebrated a graduation of higher education, only had one waitress attending to us (and she was inexperienced, it was her first week); echoes played throughout the evening and employees consistently congregated -displaying lack concern for servicing. Food was typical, disguised by a conundrum of descriptive names, no wall was left uncover - without at least two plasma TV, and a DJ with a techno club mix. Sports bar not! Setup was okay; it included a balcony which was CLOSED, several private eating areas, no dance area and a cigar room. This place seems a little confused between a restaurant, a sports bar, a house and a CLUB! Enjoy at your own risk!

WOW - I’ve been the Skybox a few times I really had a good time and enjoyed the food. I must admit that food isn’t the best in town but I credit it with a the style and maybe the fact that it is still new. The event tonight is not just about the food, it is about the party and celbrating the big event on Saturday.

If you had such a bad time then I hope that you would call the Skybox and let them know what went down so they could fix the problem so that they can have the type of success needed in order for them to survive in this town that doesn’t give the proper support to local businesses
