Nelly has a real musical history with high-end sneakers, going back a few years with his “Air Force Ones” hit.

His latest is “Stepped on My J’s,” a song and video featuring singer Ciara and producer/rapper Jermaine Dupri that premiered on BET’s “Access Granted” Wednesday night.

The video, directed by Benny Boom, nicely pays homages to Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” movie, as well as a classic commercial for Michael Jordan’s Nike sneakers that starred Lee and Jordan. Dupri humorously portrays Lee in the new video.

“Stepped on My J’s” follows the Fergie-assisted “Party People,” both from Nelly’s upcoming “Brass Knuckles” CD.

Nelly is one of the performers at the BET Awards June 24.
