Black Crowes’ Live Off the Levee concert time moved up

chrisrobinson.jpgBlack Crowes are hitting St. Louis just a little bit earlier than expected this weekend.

The Southern rock band’s Live Off the Levee concert on Soldiers Memorial Plaza concert has moved from 8 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Of course, this won’t effect those who were already planning to check out opening act Grace Potter and the Nocturnals at 6 p.m. Friday.

I heard they did this because they just wrote a 30 minute song called “Dang That High River By The Arch” that will be their opening song. So unless you care to give that a listen, you can just drive up and get the whole show at 8 as it was scheduled. Actually, I didn’t hear that directly but was told that by someone who knows the guy who orders food for the Crowes for the bus rides.

They should move up their start up to 6pm… and then Grace can take her rightful spot as headliner.

Amen Craig. Anybody who doesn’t show up on time to catch Grace and the Nocs is making a huge mistake.

I am a big fan of both bands, my advice is don’t be late. I got to see Grace and the nocs open two shows in New Hampshire for the Crowes and I can’t tell you how many Crowes Fans were asking about Grace Potter and The nocturnals after the opening set. So many die hard crowes fans were saying that it was the best opening act they have ever seen with the Crowes. As for the question about the set lists, most crowes followers know it’s a different set every night so hard to say what will be played, the same goes for Grace, they mix it up every night too, even as an opener. You can count on hearing them play The Water, and most likely Ah Mary, both amazing songs live. Other than that you never know. For those not familliar with Grace Potter and the Nocturnals go to there website or check out the loads of live stuff from them on youtube. There is a reason they are the most downloaded band on the internet, they flat out rock live!

I really really love Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. My favorite song of theirs is If I was from Paris. I doubt I’ll stay for much of the Black Crowes since they aren’t my era and there’s not much to do in between concerts.

The black crowes are worth changing any plans for they always put on a great live show. Check out their videos from their 2001 and 2007 performances at The Voodoo Experience. http://www.blogtoplist.com/rss/the-black-crowes.html They haven’t lost a step even though they’re edging into their 40s. Speaking of great Voodoo performances, they got Grace Potter this year as well! She always tears it down, in my opinion one of the best new shows on the jam circuit. Not to mention the STP, NIN, REM, headliners
