Bon Jovi’s arena rock is tops in 2008
Bon Jovi is the top touring act of 2008 so far, exceeding Bruce Springsteen and Van Halen.
Pollstar publications, the music industry’s touring Bible, unveiled its list of the touring acts pulling in the biggest bucks from Jan. 1-2008-June 30, 2008, and Jersey boy rockers Bon Jovi leads the pack with $112.4 million.
Here’s Pollstar’s rundown of the mid-year top ten (the magazine actually lists its top 100):
1. Bon Jovi, $56.3 million
2. Bruce Springsteen, $40.8 million
3. Van Halen, $36.8 million
4. Kenny Chesney, $35.3 million
5. Michael Buble, $32.5 million
6. Kanye West, $31.6 million
7. Jay-Z/Mary J. Blige, $30.7 million
8. Rascal Flatts, $25.4 million
9. Spice Girls, $23.3 million
10. The Police, $23.3 million
When the year-end list is compiled, it should look noticeably different after post-June dates from acts such as Springsteen and the Police are added in. Also expected to figure into the year-end list are new tours from Madonna, Tina Turner, Jonas Brothers, New Kids on the Block, Neil Diamond, and Janet Jackson.

And the reason Bon Jovi refuses to come to STL is….? I’ve never seen any mention of we’re not on any of the tours.
