The first-ever i-Fest, a concert event for independent music artists, is at 3 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Family Arena, bringing together 12 St. Louis indie artists featured on iChannel.fm and the iChannel HD Radio Network.

i-Fest will feature a reunion of Greenwheel, along with bands Tomorrow’s Rumor, Northside’s Sweet Revenge, Building Rome, Ocean Rivals, Walk Sophie, Go Van Gogh, the Feed, Standpointe, and the winners of the recent iChannel $5,000 Video Search, the Marquette Weekend.

Tickets are $15-$17, on sale at noon Friday at MetrotTix outlets, www.metrotix.com, and 314-534-1111.

The event will also feature a Battle of the Bands competition at Cruisin’ Rte. 66, 7895 Watson Road, and the Pit, 1860 Scherer in St. Charles. A winner from each of these Battle of Bands will perform at i-Fest.  

The dates for the Cruisin’ Route 66 competitions are July 14, July 15, and Aug. 1. The Pit competition dates are July 16, July 23 and July 26.

iChannel is asking fans to bring non-perishable dry or canned goods for donation to charitable organization Live Feed.

The event is presented by iChannel and Bonneville International Corporation.
