(tongue firmly in cheek) To call this place the “family arena” is a misnomer, with the shows they have invited. Rodeos (animal abuse), monster truck rallys (environmental abuse (as well as pollution and resource waste)), rock concerts from acts that dont truly reflect the “family values” mantra, this is proving the hypocrisy of the original intent of the arena in the first place. St Charles, the self-righteous republican family values center of the universe sells out once again, thus proving all along that it IS all about the money. Chafitz Arena will kill this building once and for all. Its a burden they never should have placed on the leasing of that arena in the first place, because they knew to make money on it they would have to bend or break on these “rules.” Trust me, some evangelical mega-church is going to buy this thing in a few years, probably on a sweetheart deal providing some percentage of their assets/collections to the Mo Repubs, while the county and voters lose big time. Mind you, I would love to see Mr. Carrington’s act - I think he’s absolutely hilarious - and I think bringing him to StL in any form is a great thing. Its just the irony of it all…
