Jars of Clay previews album with an EP in August

jarsofclay1.jpg Grammy-winning Jars of Clay, the area-bred Christian rockers known for the song “Flood,” will release a digital EP titled “Closer” Aug. 5.

The five-song EP will feature new songs “Closer” and “Safe to Land,” as well as new versions of “Flood” and “Love Song For a Savior.”

After it’s released digitally, the EP will be available at tour dates and on the band’s web site beginning Aug. 19.

The two new songs are from the band’s forthcoming full-length CD, which is looking at a 2009 release. Jars of Clay are working with producer Ron Aniello (Lifehouse, Guster, Barenaked Ladies) on the disc.

It’ll be released on their own label, Gray Matters.

Jars of Clay is part of the Music Builds tour beginning in August with Third Day, Live, Switchfoot, and Robert Randolph and the Family Band.
