Event announcement: Gospel choir search at Scottrade

marvinsapp.jpgHow Sweet the Sound, a competition search for the best church choirs in America, is at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at  Scottrade Center.

Tickets are $5-$7, available now through Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com, 314-241-1888, and the box office.

St. Louis is the first stop on the 11-city tour.

Participating choirs must be affiliated with a church or church organization, have six to 100 members performing on stage, and each participant must be 18 years of age or older.

There is no registration fee, and the deadline is 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

Donald Lawrence is the emcee at each tour stop, and Marvin Sapp, Hezekiah Walker, and other gospel acts will join the tour as judges.

Man, it would be the same weekend I plan on going to ATL. You can’t beat $5-7 tickets.

This should be a great event. I’m happy to see more mainstream gospel artist coming back to the Lou. I’ve seen Marvin, Donald and Hezekiah quite a few times and I’m sure it will be a spirit filled event….and good luck to all the choirs and group….
