Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s three hour-plus concert Saturday night at Scottrade Center was one for true believers in his First Church of Rock and Roll, according to our reviewer, Daniel Durchholz.
The set list was plentiful and exhaustive, and definitely for those who’ve stuck with Springsteen through the decades. It included covers by Chuck Berry, the Isley Brothers, Johnny Rivers, the Crystals, rarities and classics.
Here’s the set list from Saturday’s show. See the full review by Durchholz at www.stltoday.com and in Monday’s Post-Dispatch.

Great concert!!!! It was not stop Springsteen. Very high energy from
start to finish. A not miss one!!! Saw him at Fox (Devils & Dust)
which was great too but what a difference. He was very kicked back and
talking through out the whole show. This one was just non stop through out every song(no breaks). He looked like he was having as much fun as we were.
I just had to comment, as this concert ranks right at my top!!!
ps. hope the Eagles are as good as this one as they were at my top before I saw this one.
Congrats to Mr Springsteen hope he comes back to St.Louis with the
E Street band soon!!! Just at a loss for words.
This concert was simply UNREAL - it was that amazing!
The 9 song encore is unprecendented for Bruce on this tour.
Yeah, 9 song encore….
We got the 9th song because of someone named Sophie. Who is she? There was a sign with her name they were waving around. He mentioned her a few times.
There was an expectant couple close to the stage. Their sign said Sophie loves Bruce Springsteen, and they had another sign with an arrow pointing to the baby bump.
It was an awesome show. Sure wish I wash in Kansas City tonight.
Springsteen is not just a concert, its an experience. The show was unblieveable from the opening song( Then she kissed me ) to the 9!!!!!!!! song encore in which he played tribute to Chuck Berry. I went with my wife and we were “high” on the mountain of love the whole night. For those of you who have never seen Bruce, all I can say about him is……… he is unbelieveable.
Bruce and Sophie go back a long way. Many years back, before Born to Run, Bruce was in town for a show and went to a matinee movie where a fan recognized him. Asking what he was going to do before the show, Bruce admitted he had no plans. The fan took him home where his mother, Sophie, cooked Bruce a meal and made a fuss over him. Bruce was understandably touched by their friendliness and generosity, and although this was over 30 years ago, he remembers Sophie and her family every time he is in town with invitations to the show and special treatment when he can. Sophie and her family were there last night though she is now in her 80’s. A long standing, special St. Louis connection with the Boss.
Absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! “Mountain of Love” and “Then She Kissed Me” outstanding…The best treat being Thunder Road…..It was my husbands first Bruce experience and he was shocked at the level of enegery and talent Bruce delievers.
