Doug Hall, a longtime mouthpiece of Washington Avenue’s nightclub scene and spots like Rue 13 and Velvet who more recently moved on to Laclede’s Landing’s Throttle and Feisty Bulldog, is hanging up his dancing shoes.

One might say he’s even going respectable.

Hall, who joined TalentPlus Entertainment as a booking manager a year ago, will devote all his time to the talent/entertainment agency.

In a statement, Hall said “it is hard to move on but it is the best possible thing for my career. It has honestly become impossible for me to continue both careers and it is very unfair to my employers to divide my time between them.”

In the past, Hall’s name was also associated with the Washington Avenue Beat Festival, coffee shop/movie rental store Farrago, and the Clubhouse.

His valuable contributions to St. Louis’ nightlife scene will be missed. When it came to getting people to downtown clubs, his talent was indeed a plus.

Hi Kanderslam,
Mr. Hall’s roots in St. Louis’ nightlife scene go way back, and he has been key. I think that’s certainly worth a little something.

I remember this guy from back when Velvet was open. Kick ass promoter, super cool guy, he used to stand in front of that club and treat everyone like they were worth a million bucks. It’s a shame there aren’t more people doing that at clubs these days. Now they treat you like you aren’t worth their time. Man I miss that club. Good luck Doug!
