Janet Jackson’s St. Louis fans, including this one, could always count on the singer bringing her big shows to town - until now, it seems.

The Missouri stop on her just-launched Rock Witchu tour is Oct. 24 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, seemingly a haven for Missouri concerts that skip Scottrade Center (Coldplay, Tina Turner).

LL Cool J is also on the show. Nelly opened her show in Oakland Saturday night, and performed “Call on Me” with the singer.

Tickets going on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, according to www.sprintcenter.com. Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster; prices weren’t yet available.

This is Jackson’s first time mounting a tour since the Super Bowl flap several years ago made her untouchable, leading to concert producers and radio shying away from her.

The tour, oddly timed, comes more than six months after her “Discipline” CD was released, and after the CD has disappeared from the charts. But the tour opened to very enthusiastic reviews in Vancouver last week.

I will be among the first St. Louisians vying for floor seats to see Ms. Jackson. I love her, breast exposed or chart disappearing. I believe that she gives one of the best show performances of any artist. Her dance routines are incredible and she has greatly influenced the younger and more current female artists. I wish though that Ms. Jackson called this her Farewell or Retirement Tour. I love her dearly but do have to also admit, that she becoming increasingly irrelevant. Maybe it is the fact that she has yet to find her once strong footing on the solid ground she occupied prior to the Superbowl and the NippleGate which ensued after her breast exposing incident? Whatever the case, she has struggled greatly with her record labels and it is clear that she has yet to regain her once guaranteed chart-topping success. Nevertheless, I love her and can’t wait to head across the state to see her.

Oh and won’t LL Cool J open for her in KC? What a body and set of lips that brother has on him! I wonder why Nelly didn’t jump to join her on more of her tour dates??? It seems that the timing would have great for him considering his newly released and long-awaited and postponed album.

What this article is neglecting to mention is that while Ms Janet always put St. Louis on her tour stops in the past, she also always cancelled. At least she didn’t get our hopes up this time.

AhWell…Come on. If you were any real sort of Ms. Jackson fan, you would not speak such blasphemy here. In reality, Janet only has cancelled one tour in St. Louis and that was the Rhythm Nation tour in August of 1990. Since then, she has made St. Louis a stop on each of her tours. I have the program books to prove: The Velvet Rope Tour in 1998; The Janet Tour in 1994; and The All For You Tour in 2001. Now the Retirement Tour in 2008.

Yea this sucks REALLY bad.. But I am REALLY REALLY hoping that she adds more dates to the tour since the reviews have been very positive. And from reading the reviews the tickets sales were slow at first, but by time the show starts it’s almost sold out. I’m gonna try to see it in either Chi or Memphis(how the hell is she going to Memphis and not STL) She is even going to Tulsa, Oklahoma, wth.. Janet bring that butt to St. Louis PLEASE!!!

Why does St. Louis always get all the HOOD concerts (far as r&b and hip-hop concerts) We aren’t getting the big concerts no more.. (i.e. Mary J and Jay Z, Tina Turner, Mary J. Blige and Robin Thick, Madonna,…) But we sure do get all the Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy, Young Berg, and others. Just a mess.

Does anyone else get irked by people calling St. Louis “the Lou”? To me, that’s always the sign of a person who isn’t from here. People who are born & raised here would never call our city “the Lou”. It’s like people calling San Francisco “Frisco” - you just don’t do it….

I would rather here “The Lou” than hear “Missoura”
