Nelly on Leno, DeGeneres, Kimmel, and on tour
Nelly, whose “Brass Knuckles” CD is released today, is keeping his promo schedule stuffed. He’s staring down a slew of TV appearances and tour dates this fall.
He’s on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” tonight; “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Thursday, and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Monday.
And his small venue tour kicked off Monday in Los Angeles. The rest of Nelly’s “The Story of Brass Knuckles” tour dates:
– Sept. 22, Dallas
– Sept. 23, Houston
– Sept. 25, Ft. Lauderdale
– Sept. 27, Myrtle Beach
– Sept. 29, Richmond
– Sept. 30, Baltimore
– Oct. 1, New York City
– Oct. 3, Washington, D.C.
– Oct. 4, Atlantic City
– Oct. 7, Chicago
– Oct. 8, Minneapolis
A St. Louis date could be worked in there, we hear. If not, Nelly may save the St. Louis show for a larger, full-scale tour later.

Kevin C. Johnson has covered the St. Louis' music and nightlife scene for the past decade.
You mean, “Nelly may save the St. Louis show for a larger, full-scale tour later,” if his boss at Athlete’s Foot gives him the weekend off?
i think music news on this site is totally biased towards no talent hip hip news. there are so many great indie rock shows coming to stl this fall, no mention from most of them.
St. Louis is a valuable city for hip hop and all music alike. Kevin not only shows love for hip hop, he also show love for Indie, Pop, Rock, etc. People shouldn’t be sooo biased. I am an African American and I attend those shows also. Thanks Kevin for the “heads up” on concert venues.
Seems like Kev and Nelly have some haters today…LOL
I don’t care who says Nelly is done, his raps are whack and he looks like he is on steriods…I still like Nelly. I do think that he doesn’t get the respect he deserves here because people feel he doesn’t give the city a little more love. I think now more than ever he needed to have an album release party today here in the city that the public could have been a part of.

As a daily reader of The Blender, I can surely say that Kevin features it all here. In fact, there was seemed to be a couple of weeks of no R&B or Hip Hop postings. Kevin loves the local-group-gone-national Ludo and features them here regularly as he does all the countless concert announcements varying from Carrie Underwood to Neil Diamond.
I guess you only see what you want to see but I suggest you open those eyes a wee bit wider and give Kevin a little more respect than what you have shown.
Hi E,
So this blog has a bias towards no-talent hip-hop acts? I think not. Honestly, if you scroll through the archives, I think you’ll see it’s incredibly diverse, maybe even jarringly so at times.
And that’s what I want.
I hope you’ll continue to check me out here.
