Amy Grant and Vince Gill

Christmas with Amy Grant and Vince Gill is Dec. 19 at Scottrade Center.

The two-hour show will include standards and new material. The husband-wife duo will be backed by a 12-piece band and two singers including Gill’s daughter Jenny.

In a statement, Gill said “Some of our earlier Christmas tours were with a symphony orchestra. This time, though, we wanted to create more of an intimate, living room feel.”

Tickets are $44.75 and $59.75, on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 25 at Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com, 314-241-1888, and at the box office.

The concert is presented by SSM St. Mary’s Health Center Foundation.

Well, I don’t know about your living room but mine is not nearly as large as the Scottrade Center.

Much more intimate would be to go see Riders In The Sky at the Sheldon on December 5.

Why are tickets so expensive? With today’s economic mess it’s impossible to afford them. I really would like to go, but have to buy necessities for my family. Hope they can come another time.

If you’d like a less expensive ticket to a really entertaining family show, try the Ambassadors of Harmony, at the Touhill PAC, December 12, 13 and 14. If you want to feel the Christmas spirit, you won’t be disappointed.

ME: “Wow! I love Amy Grant!”

WIFE: “Oh! Vince Gill! My favorite! How much?”

ME: [scrolling down page] “Uh… $45 and $60.”

WIFE: [blinks]

ME: “Maybe they’ll film it for DVD.”

WIFE: “Yeah. We’ll rent it at a Redbox for a dollar.”
