Maxwell unveils details for tour coming to Fox Theatre

R&B singer Maxwell’s been quiet since announcing his comeback tour, which begins Oct 8 in Boston (stopping in St. Louis Oct. 15 at the Fox Theatre).
Meanwhile, support act Jazmine Sullivan has been making all the noise with her No. 1 CD “Fearless.”
Now, the long missing-in-action Maxwell, who surfaced at the last BET Awards to pay tribute to Al Green, has a few words to say about his tour and his forever-gestating “Black Summers’ Night” trilogy.
“I’ve been working on and off the ‘Black Summers’ Night’ trilogy and thought the best way to debut it was to take it directly to the people. Nothing beats a live show. You can’t Mp3 it. You can record it on a camera phone, but it’ll never duplicate the raw experience of being there. In this day and age, we need that, and I need that,” he said in a statement.
That said, Maxwell also wants fans to know the show won’t be all about “Black Summers’ Night.” “Rest assured as much as I want to, I won’t bombard people with material they don’t know.”
He’ll perform Al Green’s “Simply Beautiful” on tour, and unexpected surprises including “an extra one that represents my love for Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z. It’s not what you think though. I’m not a rapper and I won’t rap, but when you hear it it’ll make sense.”
Tickets for the Fox concert are $39.50-$69.50, available through MetroTix and at the box office.

Love him! I am excited he has gotten himself together and is now ready for a tour…new material or not…I would be there. Excited to catch him in KC a week after the STL show…maybe I might be so lucky as to see him here also???? Hint hint…lol.
