Nelly’s “Brass Knuckles” CD: Week (or weak) two sales
Nelly’s “Brass Knuckles” CD is officially in free fall mode.
In its second week of release, “Brass Knuckles” goes from a No. 3 debut on the Billboard 200 with 84,000 in sales, to No. 19 with 25,500 in sales.
Nelly needs a true hit single quick if he’s going to turn this around, and it’s possible.
Get that Usher collaboration “Long Night” out there now.

Kevin C. Johnson has covered the St. Louis' music and nightlife scene for the past decade.
I agree with Kevin that it’s gonna take a hot single to revive sales, but it certainly is possible. Not sure why St. Louis isn’t supporting its local artist; even if he has gone national/international, he is still heavily involved in the St. Louis community and contributes a great deal. Let’s get it together ya’ll!
I have been a big Nelly and Luntic supporter from day 1, I like the CD but where is NELLY. Every song has someone else on the tracks. How can he do a concert with this new CD without the people on the tracks. I want to hear NELLY and the Tic’s. Not everybody else.
So just because he is from STL we should be forced into buying a tired and late CD? If I recall correctly, about 3 or so of the singles were released like months ago. It’s not our fault he faltered on his own album…taking forever to release it (working to get it right). Too bad too sad for him and his sales but believe me, Nelly will be alright and should make it through his dismal sales and this tough economy–thanks to the previous support of the STL.
